Takata Shimuzu - After making money+killing customers - the playbook reads "I'm sorry"

We are so sad, so so so very sorry for the transience of the human lives
that we have wasted by our greed.

Takata's Shimizu: "We are deeply sorry"
Nice play, authored by Washington's most expensive
lawyers, reputation managers, and crisis counselors
that are easily afforded by this "cash-rich" company

This much is in line with Japanese formal but empty apologies that are never backed with actual public reparations to the harmed people,
but instead are accompanied by the fiercest possible legal defense.
In this case, they are taking the oh-so-clever approach of letting the hapless US government fall between the cracks-- no, the legal chasm -- between liability of OEM automaker and parts suppleir.

I'm Sorry - Brenda Lee

"I'm Sorry"

I'm sorry, so sorry
That I was such a fool
I didn't know
Love could be so cruel
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-yes

You tell me mistakes
Are part of being young
But that don't right
The wrong that's been done

(I'm sorry) I'm sorry
(So sorry) So sorry
Please accept my apology
But love is blind
And I was too blind to see

Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-yes

You tell me mistakes
Are part of being young
But that don't right
The wrong that's been done
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-yes

I'm sorry, so sorry
Please accept my apology
But love was blind
And I was too blind to see

(Sorry)
